Skills Workshop – Squirrel 101


This class is designed for wildlife rehabilitators or individuals that are interested in learning how to care for orphaned, ill, and injured squirrels. The topics of this course

are listed below:


  • The squirrels of Texas
  • Squirrel natural history and squirrel rehabilitation
  • Developmental stages, nutrition, and housing
  • Common problems, causes, and solutions
  • Release
  • Lab - feeding and handling


This course will consist of a lecture combined with a lab and class discussions of real life situations.  A fee of $25 will cover classroom instruction, the class manual, and any other materials given during class. Payment is due before class starts. Payment may be made by mail to:
